The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), the ruling party's internal anti-graft body, is holding a plenary session in Beijing.
CPC General Secretary Hu Jintao delivered a speech at Tuesday's meeting, which was also attended by senior CPC leaders including Wu Bangguo, Wen Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Li Changchun, Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, He Guoqiang and Zhou Yongkang.
The plenary session started on Monday.
He Guoqiang, secretary of the commission, delivered a report at the meeting, calling for the perfection of the corruption punishment and prevention systems.
Statistics from the commission showed that 4,960 officials above the county head level were punished nationwide during the year ended in last November.
