U.S. President-elect Barack Obama said on Sunday that Iran will be one of the biggest challenges that his administration is to face.
"I think that Iran is going to be one of our biggest challenges," he said in an interview with ABC News.
"And we are in preparations for that. We anticipate that we're going to have to move swiftly in that area," he said.
After he won presidential elections in November, Obama once said that an international effort must be made to keep Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.
"Iran's development of a nuclear weapon, I believe is unacceptable. Iran's support of terrorist organizations, I think is something that has to cease," he said.
The United States, which designated Iran as the world's "most active state sponsor of terrorism," has been accusing Iran of developing secretly nuclear weapons under the cover of civil nuclear program. Iran denies the charges.
