The deposed government of Hamas movement said on Monday that the movement is very close to victory in the battle with the Israeli army that is carrying out military offensive on the Gaza Strip.
Taher al-Noono, the Hamas government’s spokesman in Gaza, said in a written statement sent to reporters that "we tell our people that we are so close to victory than before."
The Israeli army has been carrying out air and ground military offensive in the enclave controlled by the Islamic movement, where it bombed hundreds of targets that belong to the movement’s political and military establishments.
Medics said that 917 have been killed and more than 4,100 wounded, around half of them are civilians. All Hamas political and military leaders have been hiding for 17 days in the Gaza Strip.www.hxen.net
"The Zionist enemy was reluctant to enter densely-populated areas," said al-Noono, adding "this enemy didn’t know how to deal with the fabulously armed resistance that had hit the enemy painfully."
Meanwhile, a Gaza radio station belongs to Hamas said that the deposed Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haneya is addressing a recorded speech to the Palestinian people about the situation.
It is the second time that Haneya addresses the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Israeli military offensive on Dec. 27, 2008.
