数码相机热销　卡西欧利润创纪录

　　日本消费电子产品制造商卡西欧表示，数码相机热销帮助其在截止今年3月这一财年里净利润创下新纪录，而且其预计本财年的利润也将呈大幅增长之势。卡西欧称，上一财年净利润为141.8亿日圆，同比增长2.5倍。 　　卡西欧在一份声明中表示：“例如数码相机、手机、液晶电视以及DVD机等数字家用电器销售走高，这令人振奋。”卡西欧表示，来自诸如数码相机和电子词典等消费电子产品的营收增长了32.6%，达到了1889亿日圆。

　　卡西欧称，其预计在截止2005年3月的本财年里，净利润将创新高，达到180亿日圆，销售额更将达到6100亿日圆。

　　Japanese consumer electronics maker Casio says strong digital camera sales propelled its net profit to a record high in the year to March and that it expected another year of strong profit growth.

　　Casio Computer Co. Ltd. scored a group net profit of 14.18 billion yen (125 million dollars) in the past year, up 2.5 times from the preceding year.

　　Recurring profit soared 74.8 percent to 21.45 billion yen as sales grew 18.8 percent to 523.53 billion yen.

　　"Digital home appliances -- such as digital cameras, mobile phones, television sets with liquid crystal displays and DVD players -- grew largely to lead the market," the company said in a statement.

　　This came against the backdrop of a recovering Japanese economy and growing signs consumer spending would also perk up as corporate earnings have improved, Casio said.

　　Revenue from consumer electronics, such as digital cameras and electronic dictionaries, expanded 32.6 percent to 188.9 billion yen, with watch sales up 2.4 percent at 70.1 billion yen.

　　Casio said it expected its net profit to rise to a another record of 18 billion yen in the year to March 2005. It forecast recurring profit of 34 billion yen on sales of 610 billion yen.
