世博演艺中心更名"世博文化中心"

“这里不仅是单纯的演艺场馆，还是一个集演艺、展示、娱乐于一体的时尚文化聚集区。”世博文化中心管理方负责人向记者解释了更名的缘由。

沿着绿地斜坡，记者首先进入世博文化中心的二层看台。映入眼帘的是一个面积达76000多平方米的巨大空间，空间中央是核心岛，四周则是看台。核心岛是世博文化中心最神奇的地方。它与一般的演艺场馆不同，舞台的大小、形状都能根据需要变化。它既能成为一个长61米、宽30米的椭圆形冰球场，也可以缩小为长28米、宽15米的奥运标准篮球场，还可以转换成各种形状的舞台，甚至能在360度空间中进行三维组合，为各种文化活动提供无限的艺术创意和舞台设计空间。

作为国内第一个容量可变的大型室内场馆，世博文化中心的剧场空间可以根据需要，隔成18000座、12000座、10000座、8000座、5000座等，使之既能举行超大型庆典、演唱会，又能举行NBA篮球赛，还能进行冰上表演甚至冰球比赛。据介绍，这里不仅按照国际技术标准配置了制冰系统，还能让40吨的重型集装箱卡车直接从场外开进内场，以满足舞台及演出设施快速组装的要求。此外，剧场内的一些座椅也可以相应地伸缩、升降，以适应不同的舞台。而专门配套的360度LED看板和最先进的可伸缩LED记分板，将使坐在任何位置上的观众都可以一目了然，没有视线障碍。

Expo 2010's permanent seashell structure has been renamed the Culture Center, instead of its previous incarnation as the Performance Center.

The organizer has announced its new name considering the building's multi-functions. "The center is not only a single performance venue, but a comprehensive fashion and culture arena incorporating performance, exhibition and entertainment," a senior official in charge of the center's management said yesterday.

At 120,000 square meters, the center will have two floors underground and four above.

The seating configuration of the main auditorium, which has a center stage, can be changed to accommodate 5,000, 8,000, 10,000, 12,000 or 18,000 seats depending on the requirements of the performance.

The central area can also be turned into a gala or concert venue, a basketball court built to NBA standards or even an ice hockey court.

The center will also house a cinema, a public ice skating rink, a bowling alley, a live music club, a sightseeing corridor, children's playground, car exhibition hall, 20,000 square meters of mixed use retail space with luxury suites and many VIP clubs.

Two performances will be staged daily through the fair with large concerts during the weekend. After the fair, it will house 250 performances annually and incorporate activity, sports, fashion, tourism, art training, shopping and leisure.
