普京:美国是全球经济的“寄生虫”
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin accused the United States Monday of living beyond its means "like a parasite" on the global economy and said dollar dominance was a threat to the financial markets.
俄罗斯总理弗拉基米尔 普京本周一谴责美国寅吃卯粮,是全球经济的“寄生虫”,并称美元的主导地位对金融市场构成威胁。
"They are living beyond their means and shifting a part of the weight of their problems to the world economy," Putin told the pro-Kremlin youth group Nashi while touring its lakeside summer campsome five hours drive north of Moscow.
普京对亲克里姆林宫的青年组织“纳什”说:“美国在‘寅吃卯粮’,还把自己的部分问题转嫁给全球经济。”当时他正在参观该组织举办的湖畔夏令营,这里位于莫斯科以北,车程约5小时。
"They are living like parasites off the global economy and their monopoly of the dollar," Putin said at the open-airmeeting with admiring young Russians in what looked like early campaigning before parliamentary and presidential polls.

The deal initially soothed anxieties and led Russian stocks to jump to three-month highs, but jittersremained over the possibility of a credit downgrade.

"Thank god," Putin said, "that they had enough common sense and responsibility to make a balanced decision."

But Putin, who has often criticized the United States' foreign exchange policy, noted that Russia holds a large amount of US bonds and treasuries.

"If over there (in America) there is a systemic malfunction, this will affect everyone," Putin told the young Russians.

U.S.-Russian ties souredduring Putin's 2000-2008 presidency but have warmed significantly since his protegeand successor President Dmitry Medvedev responded to Obama's stated desire for a "reset" in bilateral relations.
