新年那些事儿之点亮春节
On the first day of the New Year or shortly thereafter, everybody wears new clothes and greetsrelatives and friends with bows and Gongxi (congratulations), wishing each other good luck,happiness during the new year. In Chinese villages, some villagers may have hundreds ofrelatives so they have to spend more than two weeks visiting their relatives.
在春节第一天或此后不久,大家都穿着新衣服,带着弓向亲戚和朋友打招呼并恭喜(祝贺),彼此祝愿在新的一年里好运,幸福。在中国农村,有些村民可能有数以百计的亲戚,所以他们不得不拿出两个多星期来走亲访友。
Throngs of tourists visit the Yuyuan Garden in Shanghai yesterday to admire colorful displays of lanterns. In the Chinese lunar calendar today is Chu Wu, the fifth day of the first month of the Chinese new year.

Lanterns are traditionally lit to celebrate the Lantern Festival, the 15th of the first Chinese lunar month every year. The Lantern Festival officially ends the Chinese New Year celebrations.
昨天午夜之后人们燃放爆竹来驱逐家里的不吉、怪物、灾难、疾病和贫困。今天也是中国财神的生日。人们通常在这一天重新开张。按照传统要点灯来庆祝元宵节,每年第一个月的农历十五。元宵节意味着中国新年的庆祝活动正式结束了。
