It was a somber and sad Ivanka who was seen exiting her old Manhattan digs. But Ivanka was all smiles just a few hours later when she emerged from the Oscar Blandi Salon just a few blocks away from her pied-a-terre while showing off a fresh new cut.
Ivanka posed for a photo after her cut with stylist Rita Zito. The first daughter dropped approximately $1100 on her trim and color.
Ivanka has been a long time client of the famed salon, where a cut and color can easily cost more than $1000 every few months.
The new look came just a few days before Ivanka is set to start her new job as an adviser to her father at The White House, a position that many are firmly against given the fact that she is related to the man who gave her the federal job.
In her new role she will not be paid a salary in order to avoid any possible ethics complaints given her status as a federal employee, who cannot be appointed to their posts by family members.
In anticipation of the backlash and criticism she was bound to face when the news broke, Ivanka released a statement on Wednesday in an attempt to quell the fears of those who might be angered by the move.
'I have heard the concerns some have with my advising the president in my personal capacity while voluntarily complying with all ethics rules, and I will instead serve as an unpaid employee in the White House Office, subject to all of the same rules as other federal employees,' said Ivanka in a statement.
