For years following the 2nd World War, they became arch enemies and at times came very close to dissolving into a full-blown, likely nuclear war. However, after the demise of the Soviet Union, a new reality emerged between the United States and Russia. Almost overnight, the US had found its old cold war enemy had suddenly become a friend. As Russia struggled through its post Soviet troubles, the relationship between Russia and the US continued to grow. And even into the start of the new millennium, relations between the US and Russia were strong. However, the last few years has seen a continual deterioration of ties between the White House and the Kremlin. So what is driving a wedge between Russia and the United States? And what can be done to try to fix it?
