CRI听力:China Raises Oil Prices
China's economic planner has announced that starting from Thursday the country will raise the prices of gasoline, diesel oil and aviation kerosene by 500 yuan, or about 71US dollars, per ton.
The average retail prices of gasoline and diesel oil was lifted up 0.4 and 0.46 yuan per liter respectively.
According to the National Development and Reform Commission, the adjustment was made to shorten the gap between high-flying international crude oil prices and state-set domestic oil prices.
In the streets of Beijing, people say their life will not be affected much by the price rise.
"It does not have much influence on our life. As the oil price in the international market is climbing, for me the move is understandable."
A taxi driver has this to say.
"It depends on how much the price rise is. I don't care if it is very little, but I can not afford if it is 2 or 3 yuan."
Crude oil price in the international market reached nearly 95 US dollars per barrel on Wednesday, up by over 80 percent from the price at the beginning of the year.
