16-year-old Chinese diver Chen Ruolin has added a most challenging gold for diving powerhouse China, reclaiming the country's supremacy in the women's 10-meter platform.

Chen Ruolin, who was just crowned 10-meter platform synchro champion a few days ago, was behind a Canadian diver after the previous five rounds. (www.hXen.com)

But she made an almost perfect dive in the last round, and claimed the gold with a highest score in the final.

China has failed to win the gold in this event in the previous two Olympics, but Chen Ruolin said this was not a burden for her.

"It's OK. I didn't think too much about it. I also didn't know that I was once behind, because I never look at the screen before the match is over."

The teenager said the first thing she would like to do after securing champion, is to have a good sleep and eat whatever good to eat.

Emilie Heymans, the Canadian world champion who took the leading place before the last dive, said she was deeply impressed by Chen's consistency.

"I know it's really close, but she is an awesome diver, and she's been winning for really long time, so she won the gold."

Heymans won the silver and another Chinese diver Wang Xin claimed the bronze in the competition.

China has so far garnered seven golds in diving.

There is only one event stands between China and a gold medal sweep, the men's 10-meter platform final to be held on Saturday.
