The Shenzhou-7 space module parachuted softly onto a landing site in central Inner Mongolia, where about 300 search and rescue staff had been waiting.
After receiving a series of medical check-ups, the three Chinese astronauts got out of the module. Here's Liu Boming, the one who had assisted Zhai Zhigang in completing the monumental spacewalk mission.
"Just now, we went through a process to get adapted to the gravity on earth as well as a series of medical check-ups. All types of indices show that all three of us are in good health conditions. I still remember what I said before going out for the mission. I said: please trust the Chinese astronauts, we're the best."
Coming back from a 68-hour flight, Zhai Zhigang, who performed the spacewalk on Saturday, was still very excited recalling the historical moment.
"Yesterday, Chinese astronauts performed a spacewalk for the first time ever in our history. It's glorious mission for us, while it's also very challenging. The result is perfect. I feel proud of our country."
The three astronauts have been taken to a hospital in the Inner Mongolian capital Hohhot for medical examination and are scheduled to fly back to Beijing on Monday.
Just following the successful return of the Shenzhou-7 spaceship, Chinese premier Wen Jiabao congratulated them on their successful mission.
"The success of Shenzhou-7 manned space mission represents a historic step forward in our space technology. This is another success in China's manned space program. The country and its people will always remember what you have done."
Wen Jiabao said the Shenzhou7 mission is a milestone in the development of China's space technology.
