CRI听力：Expert: China's Development Brings Opportunities for Latin America

China's development is believed to bring more opportunities and cooperation between the country and Latin America.

Martin Rodriguez, an international relations expert from Argentina, made the comment during Chinese President Hu Jintao's state visit to Costa Rica.(WWw.hxen.net)

"I think the timing for the Chinese president's visit to Latin America is very appropriate as he will bring trust and expectations for the future development of Latin American countries."

Rodriguez also applauded China's newly-released policy paper on Latin America and the Caribbean, saying the moves are conducive to deepening trade relations between the two sides.

He said China's opening markets are beneficial for Latin American countries during the global financial turmoil.

Some 11 cooperation agreements will be endorsed between China and Costa Rica when Chinese president Hu Jintao meets with his Costa Rican counterpart Oscar Arias.

This is the first state visit to Costa Rica by a Chinese head of state since the two countries set up diplomatic ties last year.

Hu Jintao will later visit Cuba, Peru and Greece, and attend the Economic Leaders' Informal Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in the Peruvian capital of Lima.
