CRI听力:China Drafts Proposal on North Korea's Nuclear Verification
Chief delegates to the six-party talks continued their discussion on Tuesday focusing on the verification protocol of denuclearization of North Korea.
On the day, China distributed a draft proposal on how to verify North Korea's nuclear information.
The top U.S. nuclear negotiator Christopher Hill emphasized China's efforts to form the draft, which addressed each party's concern. (Www.hxen.net)
"We've taken the draft with great seriousness, worked very hard ourselves through the day to make sure it encompasses what we need to do to get on with verification."
Hill said there are scientific procedures regarding verification in the draft. He added that the six parties are getting into specifics.
Verification is the focus of the international talks, with North Korea refusing to let outside inspectors take samples from its main nuclear complex at Yongbyon.
This is the third chief delegates' meeting during the sixth round of the six-party talks after a five-month suspension.
