CRI听力：U.S. House Approves Massive Economic Stimulus Package

U.S. House of Representatives has approved a massive stimulus package, an uNPRecedented attempt by the American government to jolt the economy.

The 787 billion dollars package was approved by a vote of 246- 183 but with no Republican support. The Senate is expected to follow later the day.

"On this vote the yeas are 246, the nays are 183, and one voting present, the conference report is adopted. Without objection, a motion to reconsider is laid upon the table."

Once the bill is passed by the Senate, it would be sent to President Barack Obama to sign into law. Obama has set a February 16 deadline for the bill.

Lawmakers reached a tentative deal on the stimulus bill on Wednesday after 24 intense hours of negotiations, cutting the cost from more than 800 billion US dollars.
