Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari says his upcoming visit to China is aimed at deepening mutual understanding and strengthening coordination in the face of the global economic crisis.
Zardari made the remarks on Monday in Islamabad during an interview with Chinese journalists.
"Both China and Pakistan are confronted with the threat of the global economic downturn. The two countries should work together to weather the crisis. So I plan to visit China every three months in a bid to learn from China and enhance China's understanding of Pakistan. I think our two countries can seek opportunities for cooperation and development amid the economic crisis."(www.hxEn.com)
Zardari pointed out that the prospects of economic cooperation between China and Pakistan have unimaginable potential, noting Pakistan's economy is facing mounting pressures and challenges.
The president said he hoped that more Chinese companies could come to the special Chinese zones set up for China in Pakistan.
Zardari will begin his second visit to China later this week.
He paid his first visit to China in mid-October last year, the first official visit abroad since his inauguration as Pakistani president.
