CRI听力: Iran to Offer New Proposal Package to World

2009-04-17来源:和谐英语

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that Iran is willing to build a new relationship with the United States and would offer a new package of proposals to the world.

Ahmadinejad made the remarks while addressing a crowd in southeastern Iran's Kerman city.

"We are preparing a new package. Once it becomes ready, we will present that package. It is a package that constitutes peace and justice throughout the globe and also respects other nations' rights and guarantees participation of all countries and nations in solving international problems."

However, Ahmadinejad did not elaborate on the content of the package and whether it has to do with the country's nuclear standoff. (www.hXen.com)

In response to West's packages of incentives to encourage Iran to halt its sensitive nuclear program, Iran offered its own package last year. In the package, Tehran's concern had been directed to the global issues rather than its nuclear program.

The United States and other Western countries claim that Iran intends to secretly develop nuclear weapons. The UN Security Council also requires Iran to suspend its uranium enrichment activity.
Iran insists that its nuclear plan is only for peaceful purposes.

Earlier, Ahmadinejad said that Iran would continue with its nuclear programme and would be stopped by "no one".
