CRI听力:A National Museum of Intangible Cultural Heritage is Needed
China lacks a national museum of intangible cultural heritage or another venue for such permanent exhibitions.
An article in the People's Daily argues that such a museum is necessary to protect and promote the research of the country's intangible cultural heritage. It calls for the establishment of a national museum for researchers and the public so they can study and enjoy the China's intangible cultural heritage. It points out that in the past exhibitors have had to rent temporary venues such as the China Millennium Monument for various exhibitions.
The article notes that all cultural heritage exhibitions in the country have attracted great attention from the public. But common citizens are not satisfied with the limited availability of temporary exhibitions and want a national museum of intangible cultural heritage for regular exhibitions.(www.hXen.com)
The article suggests that the government make plans to establish such museums, because they exemplify the unique Chinese culture and benefit its long-term preservation.
