CRI听力:China Southern Airline Carries Second Batch of Humanitarian Materials to Mexico

It's early Monday morning, and workers at the Beijing Capital International Airport are busy loading up materials into a chartered China Southern Airlines cargo plane.

"The materials comprise of more than 6,000 items. They are fastened and fixed at 24 sections in the plane. This arrangement aims to ensure the safety of the materials and the smooth flight of the plane."

Zhou Bin says the large package includes various anti-virus materials, such as masks and isolation coats.

Chen Jie, Captain of the chartered plane, says special measures have been taken to ensure a smooth delivery.

"We conduct this flight in relay. One crew flies the 12-hour journey from Beijing to Los Angeles. And the other crew takes on the task of flying the remaining distance to Mexico. The whole journey takes 15 hours."

Seeing off the chartered plane, Wang Shichun, a senior official of China's commerce ministry, has this to say.

"With the arrival of the materials, I hope they can assist Mexico in the country's fight against the spreading pandemic."

The official says the plane sees the fulfillment of China's promise of donating five million US dollars worth of humanitarian aid to Mexico.

Last week, China delivered the first batch of humanitarian materials to the Latin American country.
