CRI听力: Children from Quick-hit Areas Celebrate Dragon Boat Festival
More than 250 children from Wenchuan county, epicenter of the deadly earthquake last May, have joined together with volunteers to celebrate the traditional Dragon Boat Festival which falls on Thursday.
These children are now studying in a primary school in Yibin city. Their school in Wenchuan was destroyed in the earthquake.
Volunteers brought these children 'Zongzi', pyramid-shaped rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves, and are usually eaten during the Dragon Boat Festival.(www.hXen.com)
Huang Rong is a five-grade student from Wenchuan.
"Today, uncles and aunts have sent Zongzi and fragrant bags to us as Dragon Boat Festival gifts. I am very happy."
Xiao Yan is one of the volunteers.
"I was looking forward to seeing these children. Finally we decided to visit them during the Dragon Boat Festival because they must miss their relatives very much on festival occasions. We have brought them Zongzi and duck eggs. We hope the children to have a happy and warm festival while away from the hometown."
Many volunteers also sent books and stationery to the children.
