CRI听力: Privacy Should be Primary Concern for Mobile Registration
Chinese authorities are mulling over a real name registration system in an effort to fight cell phone fraud.
An article from the Beijing Youth Daily warns that protection of privacy has become as primary concern as the system is now pending approval from the State Council.
The article complains Chinese cell phone users have been frequently bothered by spam messages, many of which aim to bluff people into spending money. (www.hXen.com)
As it is important to require consumers register mobile services with real names, the article asserts the importance of protecting an individual's privacy.
It argues illegal leakage of customer's personal information is the major reason behind the rampant spate of spam messages.
The situation could grow even worse if customers are required to register with real names and private information without a system to secure their privacy.
In conclusion, the writer suggests mobile operators reduce the number of pre-paid service users and encourage more postpaid customers with favorable policies as related laws and regulations cannot yet provide safe environment for privacy.
