CRI听力: Creative talents are the key to China's cultural and creative industries
Box office takings for a recent Chinese animated picture have reached 100 million Yuan, or 15 million US dollars, overtaking last year's blockbuster 'Kungfu Panda' by a large margin.
The hilarious movie, which was rearranged from China's popular cartoon series "Pleasant Goat and Bigbig wolf", tells a story about how a sheep circumvent falling prey to a coveted grey wolf.
The 'People's Daily' published an article saying the animated movie is a typical example of the transformation of China's cultural and creative industry, from 'Made in China' to 'Created in China'.(www.hXen.com)
However, it points out China's cultural and creative industry meets obstacles in how to extend this experience into other areas of the industry.
The article noted the main obstacle is the lack of creative talent.
It goes on to point out that cultural and creative talent is limited in Beijing and Shanghai. It's estimated that one out every one thousand workers in China are engaged in this filed. While in other international cities such as New York, Tokyo and London, the proportion is a hundred times bigger than that of China.
In this way, the article suggests that the Chinese government should work out policies on cultivating more professionals with international vision, creative ideas as well as good management skills of the industry.
