2009-10-01来源:和谐英语

Anchor: Arranging a super large scale celebration for the 60th anniversary of the National Day involving the military, citizens and volunteers is an extremely demanding job. But everything is ready. Now let's take a look at the final preparations for Thursday's big celebration.

Our reporter Li Dong has the details.

Reporter: Altogether, roughly 300 thousand citizens and volunteers will take part in tomorrow's civilian parade performance. Security check, assembling all the people from different places, controlling the pace of the parade and the time of all of the processes is counted accurate to the second.(www.hXen.com)

A teacher from Ritan Middle School says her students are required to be in position at 5 am....

"Because we are located in the center of the Tian An Men Square we are the first group to start and we are the last to leave. We are supposed to stay in the square for about 9 hours. But everything is well regulated. Like going to toilet, students are required to go to the toilet in groups of five. The next group can go when the first one is back."

Dozens of parade groups will pass Tian An Men one by one. Groups that have just finished performing are required to sprint as if in a one hundred metre dash to make room for the next group.

Zeng Fanxin, deputy director of the command of the National Day civilian parade says they've cleared all the potential dangers given training to the performers, so people can leave the square as fast as possible. Zeng Fanxin adds they've also prepared for unexpected situations.

"For situations like dropping shoes and property like long flags, we've arranged special staff to pick them. Performers are not allowed to pick them while they are performing."

Zeng Fanxin adds the speed of each float is also accurately controlled.

"Each float is equipped with GPS. We will tell them to adjust their speed via wireless communication. They will also inform us if they encounter difficulties."

As for the soldiers who are going to join tomorrow's military parade, most of them are relaxing, so they can give their best performance tomorrow morning. However, the female soldiers are taking a special course—how to apply make-up.

For instance, the foundation make up for Navy female soldiers should be a bit thicker, so their face won't look too dark due to the reflection coming from their white uniform. While for Army and Air Force female soldiers, it's not that necessary.

Yu Weiguo is the commissar of the female soldier group.

"Our preparation is now focusing on details. Looking their best also includes their facial expressions. We are showing our best part to the world."
