Skiing season has come in Northern Hemisphere. This season's ski fashions are all about bright colors and skinny fits for the slopes. But looking trendy on the trail doesn't come cheap.

Our reporter Huangrui has more.

The Metro Ski and Snowboard show in London draws in the crowds by displaying the latest must-have equipment and fashion trends for this season. For those who want to look fashionable on the slopes, bright colors are an absolute must. Claire Steward, clothing supervisor at Snow and Rock, says this season, everything is really bright.

"Everything's vivid, there's lots of purples, really bright blue, red; everything's a lot more urban, in your face. On the ladies side maybe last year it might have been a bit of baby blue and pink but it's really gone bright and bold this season, so it's really nice."(www.hxen.net)

If you want to match your snowboard with your jacket, skating brand DC is the place to head to. They have come up with a concept jacket by artist Andrew Rae, paired up with a series of snowboards.

The fashion rift between skiers and snowboarders is becoming smaller and smaller, as snowboard wear is becoming less baggy. Tim Holmes, manager of the Metro Ski and Snowboard Show, says that he has spotted a lot of skinny snowboard wear at the stalls.

One very popular skinny design is a denim-style pair of ski and snowboard trousers. Bryony Treadwell, clothing manager of Ellis Brigham, says they are made of denim but they're also waterproof and breathable.

"They're a real skinny fit, which is coming back in now. They sort of like cross over between skiers and snowboarders. First of all it was just a ski thing and now it's becoming much more like a snowboarding thing, like a lot more trendy."

But the most important on the slopes is not only to look good, but also to be warm.

What do people really wear on the slopes? Simon Rabinowitz says he remembers when he first went skiing it was impossible to buy good equipment and good clothing.

"I remember going to an army surplus store where I had to buy what they called an anorak that had no zip down the front, you had to put it over your head, it was almost impossible, and it came down to my knees."

For Pez Perez, looking good on the slope is an absolute must.

"I like to, well, I hope I like to look good all the time, so on the mountain it doesn't hurt anyone. Loud colors, a bit baggy, and I'm away. I like it."

With all the colors flying about this year, it should be easy for everyone to find their perfect outfit.
