CRI听力: Latest Judicial Interpretation on Internet Porn to Ensure Healthy Development of Internet Ind

2010-02-07来源:和谐英语

The latest criteria for imposing penalties for internet pornography, which have been jointly released by China's Supreme Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate, are now in effect. The criterion applies to pornographic information spread via the internet, mobile telecommunication tools and information service centers. Damin has more.

In 2004, China's Supreme Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate laid down the criteria for imposing penalties for internet pornography. However,as internet access becomes more convenient, more channels are now being used to spread pornographic information, with telephone pornography quickly becoming the most prevalent one.

Hu Yunteng with China's Supreme Court says the latest judicial interpretation on internet porn can now apply to more cases.

"The judicial interpretation applies to both internet and phone internet. It focuses on censoring and punishing providers of porn website services and operators of telecommunication services related to pornography. It also gives a clear definition to porn websites."

In addition to setting up the punshiment criteria for spreading pornographic information, Hu Yunting suggests the judicial interpretation will also help authorities crackdown on Child pornography.

"For example according to the judicial interpretation in 2004, people producing or transmitting 20 porn performances involving children under the age of 14 constitutes a crime. But now producing or transmitting 10 such videos will be considered criminal."(www.hXen.com)

Since China stepped up its crackdown on internet and telephone porn last year, over 4000 cases have been investigated by public security departments, four times the number in 2008. More than 90,000 cases have been reported by the public from December 4th ,2009 to January 15th, 2010.
