2010-08-03来源:和谐英语

Mexico is now trying to draw the attention of Chinese investors as the Mexican Infrastructure Conference attracts over 220 entrepreneurs from more than 100 companies from both countries to the Mexico Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo. Industry insiders say it is a good opportunity for Chinese companies to know the investment environment of Mexico and exchange information with their Mexican counterparts.

Yao Yongmei has the reports.

The 2010 Mexico Infrastructure Conference showcases about 70 projects, representing a total investment exceeding 50 billion US dollars.

Alejandro Werner Wainfeld, Mexico's Deputy Minister of Finance, says a significant recovery is expected in 2010 and 2011, including its GDP and employment growth.

Alejandro also introduces the National Infrastructure Program, laying out an ambitious strategy to improve and expand infrastructure in the country.

"A total investment of 234 billion dollars included is in the national infrastructure program. This agenda has had a rate of our grants of round 40 to 45 percent by today."

Alonso Garcia Tames is the CEO of Mexico's Infrastructure and Public Service Development Bank, which serves as the financial instruments of the Federal Government to promote foreign investment in Mexico's infrastructure.

"We do participate in different sections of infrastructure, we do participate in roads, we do participate in financing water projects and also water sanitization, we do participate in solid waste management solutions, we do participate in providing financing to tourist activity. More recently we have also been participating in clean energy generation."

In 2009, China was the second largest global trading partner of Mexico. The trade between the two countries has grown by 706 percent from 2001 to 2009.

Wang Weidong is the Deputy Director General of the Global Cooperation Department of China Development Bank.

"China Development Bank will actively support companies to get involved in the Infrastructure Investment in the field of energy, railroad and hydroelectric stations. We will strengthen our friendly cooperation with financial institutions in Mexico in order to provide quality service to companies in both countries. "

At the conference, companies from both countries will have the opportunity to participate in bilateral meetings with Mexican government officials who are in charge of relevant projects.
