Kenya is one of China's most important trading partners in east Africa. Trading volumes have been constantly growing over the years. Kenya exports large quantities of fruits, mineral resources, cotton and tea. More and more Chinese entrepreneurs are choosing to invest in Kenya. Strong trading ties and economic cooperation have made one of the most dynamic parts of China-Kenya relations. To explain it in details, we are now joined by Mr. Chirau Mwakwere, Kenya's Minister of Trade, who is here in Shanghai to attend Kenyan pavilion day celebrations.
1. Mr. Makwere, can you outline briefly the trading relationship between Kenyan and China?
2. What is the major drive for the growing trading ties? And what are the important areas for both countries to develop in future?
3 What business opportunities do you think the Shanghai World Expo can bring to traders from both countries? You have been recently appointed as trade minister what do have you planned to strengthen future trade ties between Kenya and China
