CRI听力: Internet, Cell Phone Data Service Cut in Egypt amid Protests
Internet and cell-phone data services now appear to have been cut across Egypt, as authorities there brace for demonstrations today, backed by both the country's biggest opposition group and the former head of the IAEA, Mohamed ElBaradei, who has now returned to his home country.
The Egyptian government has now deployed an elite special operations force in Cairo, as the violence escalates outside the capital.
The Islamist Muslim Brotherhood is now calling on its members to take to the streets in protest against the government of Hosni Mubarak.
The 82-year old Mubarak, who has led Egypt for 30-years, has not been seen since the demonstrations started, demonstrations which have now left 8 people dead.
For more on the protests in Egypt, we spoke earlier with Doctor Galal Amin with the American University in Cairo and the author of the book "Egypt in the Era of Hosni Mubarak".
