CRI听力: World Economic Forum: China Ranks Higher in Information Technology Development
China has been ranked higher in the World Economic Forum's annual Global Information Technology Report.
The ranking of China's information technology development was raised by 11 spots to 46th.
Soumitra Dutta is a professor of Business and Technology with INSEAD, a world leading business school based in Europe.
He made the remark before the report was officially released.
"You see that China has remained the biggest shift upwards. What is impressive is that, this year for the first time, China overtook India, and today China is rising at the high position, leading the brick countries [Brazil, Russia, India and China]. China has set an example of investing very heavily in hi-tech and science education."
The report primarily consists of an analysis of the impact of information technology development on the competitiveness of global economies.
It targeted 134 countries this year. Denmark, Sweden, the United States, Singapore and Switzerland are the top five in the ranking.
The World Economic Forum has issued the annual report for 8 successive years.
