CRI听力:China, EU Discuss Arms Embargo and Market Economy Status
2011-05-15来源:和谐英语
Chinese vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying is now calling on the European Union to lift its arms embargo and recognize China's market economy status.
Fu has characterized those two issues as major political obstacles in China's bilateral ties with the EU during the second round of the China-EU strategic dialogue, which has now concluded in Hungary.
The European side contends progress is being made on those issues.
David O'Sullivan, chief operating Officer of the European External Action Service, says both sides are making exchanges on the issues "frequently."
This year's strategic dialogue has been co-chaired by State Councilor Dai Bingguo and EU Foreign Affairs chief Catherine Ashton.
