CRI听力:China to Facilitate Foreign Financial Investment
China's securities regulator is bringing in a three-fold jump in quotas for the Renminbi Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor scheme.
Under the program, qualified investors are allowed to channel yuan-denominated funds they collect offshore into the mainland stock and bond markets.
The RQFII quota is set to be raised by 200 billion yuan from the current ceiling of 70 billion yuan.
At the same time, under the Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor program, the authorities granted a record 2.8-billion US dollars in quotas to 9 overseas investors in October.
This is the largest-ever monthly allocation, and matches the amount given during the entire third quarter.
For more on the finanical moves, we spoke earlier Shen Hong, China Bureau Chief of Dow Jones Newswires.
