CRI听力:Official Urges China-U.S. Trust on Cyber Security
Officials from China and the US are calling for greater trust between the two countries in cyber security.
The call has come as part of a US-China Internet Industry Forum underway here in Beijing.
Qian Xiaoqian is the deputy head of China's State Internet Information Office.
"The National Computer network Emergency Response technical Team Coordination Center of China reported over 6,700 offshore Trojan network servers and botnet controlled 1.9 million computers through inserting backdoor programs from over 5,320 remote controlled offshore servers in 11,420 websites within the Chinese border during January and February this year."
Robert Hormats is a US under-Secretary of State.
He has told the Internet forum computer hacking is a global problem.
"We know that many in China suffer from this as well. So we don't see this as an issue of confrontation, we see this as a potential issue for cooperation. We think it is useful for all stake holders in the United States and China to collaborate closely on this issue."
The two-day forum, co-hosted by Microsoft and the Internet Society of China, is discussing issues such as mobile Internet, Internet governance and cyber culture.
