CRI听力:China, France to Forge Sustainable Partnership

2013-04-27来源:CRI

Chinese President Xi Jinping and visiting French President Francois Hollande have pledged to establish a sustainable partnership between the two countries.

Xi Jinping said the two sides should boost economic cooperation "with a strategic view".

"China is willing to import more French products and we hope the French side can push forward the loosening of the European Union on the limit on hi-tech products exports to China. One cannot make big steps forward with his hands and feet bound."

While Hollande said France hoped to cooperate with China and expand two-way trade and investment.

"I called Chinese investors to come to France. Not simply for what they have already been doing, investing capital, including in sovereign debt in Europe, and ours in particular, not simply for consisting of common funds, they exist and we already have them. It's to take a place in the French productive apparatus, in cooperation with companies, in order for Chinese investors to contribute to the creation of jobs."

Both leaders witnessed the signing of a string of deals, including one for China to purchase 60 Airbus passenger planes.

Meanwhile a statement for nuclear power cooperation between both sides was signed, with agreements on research and development of advanced reactors and nuclear fuel sharing.

France is a major nuclear power user, deriving over 75 percent of its electricity from nuclear energy.

And China's nuclear power capacities currently under construction are the largest worldwide.
