CRI听力:World Top Players Willing to Train Chinese Players
Former world number one Roger Federer chose China's Zhang Ze to play doubles at the 2013 Shanghai Masters.
Even though the team has ended up the 3rd round of men's double match, Zhang still believes that he learns a lot from this tournament.
"I think the fact that I played with Roger is already a big takeaway for me. I can learn a lot of things from him, especially how to handles the key points."
Federer rarely plays doubles, but he said that he hoped his partnership with Zhang would help give Chinese tennis a boost.
"That should give Chinese tennis a lift, in my opinion, hopefully make the generation of Zhang Ze or the younger players, maybe older for that matter, believe more they can play with the best."
World's number one Rafael Nadal has trained with China's player Wu Di.
After practicing with Wu, Nadal considered him that he is talented and if he kept improving, he would have the chance to be in the top 100.
"The only advice that I can say is the advice that everybody knows: practice every day with the right attitude, go on court every day with a goal on improving something, not go on court just practice for practice. Sometimes you lost that ambition to keep improving. Is something that really help me during my whole career. Every time I go on court, my motivation is try to be better player and try to improve the things I need to improve."
To further help the game's development in China, the defending champion Novak Djokovic says a system is needed.
"Generally it's much better to have the system, an organization in a certain sport that can help at least in the first steps of the development of the players to kind of give him that push towards the professional world."
Djokovic also says that top players who are participating these kinds of tournaments in China try to have some local sparring partners and also see where the Chinese men's tennis is.
