2013-11-23来源:CRI

China's Vice-Premier Liu Yandong says the new round of reforms introduced by the latest key CPC meeting will bring exciting opportunities to Sino-U.S. relations.

"The reform and development that are going on in China right now will help the people to live a better life. In the meantime, China's development will create a win-win scenario for both China and the U.S. It will also bring new opportunities to the world."

Liu made the comment while visiting Washington and meeting up with former U.S. officials including Tom Donilon, the former National Security Advisor to the U.S. President.

The Vice-Premier has also asked for advice from U.S politicians in terms of China's reform and Sino-U.S relations.

Liu's visit comes on the eve of the 35th anniversary of the founding of China-U.S. diplomatic relations.

Earlier this year, Chinese President Xi Jinping met up with his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama.

The two leaders reached an agreement on seeking to build a new type of major-power relationship.

Liu Yandong says the meeting opened a new page for Sino-U.S relations and the bilateral ties have seen historical development over the past 35 years.

"This year is an extraordinary year for China and the U.S. Twenty days later, it will be the 35 anniversary of the China-U.S. diplomatic relations. And this year also marks the 35th anniversary of China's opening up. China has gone through tremendous change over the past 35 years, and the Sino-U.S. relations have seen historical development."

The Vice Premier also stresses cultural exchanges between the two countries will work to boost the bilateral ties.

Liu and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry are set to co-chair the fourth China-U.S. High-Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange this week.

She is expected to head to New York after wrapping up her visit in Washington.

China and the U.S. launched the People-to-People consultation in 2010, which is designed to boost bilateral exchanges in culture and education.
