CRI听力:China, Greenland to Enhance Mining Industry Co-op
While global warming is a concern all over the world, melting ice in the Arctic is also providing new opportunities.
China and Greenland are strengthening ties, with the melting ice providing easier access to the Danish territory, and to its mineral resources.
Greenland's Minister for Industry and Mineral Resources was recently in Beijing seeking greater cooperation extracting minerals under the ice cap and selling them to China.
The two sides hope Greenland can become a new investment destination for Chinese companies trying to gain a foothold in Europe.
