CRI听力:U.S. Economy Posts Strong Second-quarter Growth as Fed Cuts stimulus
The latest figures show the US economy has rebounded sharply in the second quarter.
Gross domestic product in the US has expanded by 4 percent through Q2, after shrinking nearly 3-percent in the first quarter.
The second-quarter GDP figure is much stronger than previous predictions, bolstering the outlook for US economy for the remainder of the year.
At the same time, the Federal Reserve has decided to continue to ease back on its stimulus program.
As expected, the Fed has announced another 10-billion-dollar-a-month cut to its bond purchases program, scaling it back from 35-billion down to 25 billion.
The US central bank has been buying bonds in an effort to keep long-term interest rates low to encourage spending.
For more on the status of the US economy, we are joined live on the line by CRI's financial commentator Cao Can.
