The Sichuan Blue Whales are set to ink the signing of former NBA player Metta World Peace later tonight.
It's reported that the one year contract is worth 1.4 million US dollars, making World Peace the most expensive import signing in the league.
The 34-year-old last played for the New York Knicks of the NBA.
He was born as Ronald William Artest before legally changing his name in 2011.
World Peace gained a reputation as one of the NBA's premier defenders as he won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2004 and was named an NBA All-Star that year.
