CRI听力:Germany Striker Mirsolav Klose Retires from National Team
Striker Miroslav Klose has announced his retirement from international football after helping Germany win the World Cup in Brazil.
He says the time is right to end a 13-year career with the German national team.
"Winning the title in Brazil was a childhood dream come true. I am happy and proud to have contributed to this big success for German football. For me there could be no better moment to complete the national team chapter."
Klose has become Germany's leading goal scorer with 71 goals in 137 international caps.
He is also the overall top scorer of the FIFA World Cup with 16 goals.
Germany's head coach says the striker's qualities, such as his aerial power, goal presence, understanding of the game, and his tireless commitment are second to none worldwide.
