CRI听力:Netanyahu Vows to Step up Israel's Offensive amid Renewed Fighting
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to step up the offensive in Gaza until rocket fire stops.
"We are determined to continue the campaign with all means, and as is needed. We will not stop until we secure full security and a quiet life for the residents of the south and all citizens of Israel."
This comes after Israeli air strikes targeted the head of Hamas' military wing, Mohammed Deif.
The Hamas military chief survived an apparent assassination attempt that killed his wife and two-year-old son.
Israel has accused Deif of being the mastermind behind several attacks against Israelis, including the kidnapping and murder of an Israeli soldier.
A new round of fighting resumed between Israel and Hamas this week after a 24-hour ceasefire was breached.
Rockets from Gaza began coming down on Israel before the truce had expired.
The Israeli military says it has carried out 92 air strikes, in response to 137 rockets fired at its territory.
Earlier, an Egypt-brokered effort to end the violence collapsed, as both Israeli and Palestinian negotiators walked away from talks in Cairo.
