Visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping has delivered a speech in Mongolia's parliament this Friday, stressing the importance of friendly ties with China's neighbors.
CRI's Luo Wen has more.
Friendship and common development are the two key words which jump out of President Xi Jingping's speech delivered to the State Great Hural of Mongolia, the country's parliament.
As part of President Xi Jinping's time in Mongolia, the two sides have upgraded their bilateral relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Speaking to the Mongolian Parliament, Xi Jinping says the two countries should push bilateral relations to a new high based on the diplomatic upgrade.
"China's reform and opening up as well as modernization will help stimulate our neiboring countries' development, including Mongolia. By effectively aligning the two countries' development strategies, we can achieve common development and prosperity."
His speech has also focused on China's position when it comes to achieving common goals with China's various neighbors.
Xi Jinping says China wants a practical relationship with its neighbors, which works to the benefit of both sides. He adds China is willing to provide both opportunity and space for the common development of China's neighboring countries.
"We will continue to adhere to the foreign policy of developing good-neighborly relationship and partnership with our neighboring countries, and the policy of bringing harmony, security and prosperity to them. We will uphold the guidelines of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness in neighborhood diplomacy. China is willing to offer opportunities and room to Mongolia and other neighbors for common development. You can take a ride on our express train or just make a hitchhike, all are welcome. "
In addition, Xi Jinping's speech has touched on conflict resolution, saying the key to getting past problems is mutual respect.
"Utilizing oriental wisdom in resolving conflicts and solving problems will promote harmony. In the process of regional cooperation, Asian countries should learn from each other and respect each other. In dealing with issues of mutual relations, in Asia we have a tradition of reaching a solution through negotiation and cooperation. We should carry on this tradition."
As part of his address to Mongolian lawmakers, Xi Jinping is calling for more meetings between the two sides.
This is the first time a Chinese Head of State has made an official visit to Mongolia in 11-years.
It's also the second time the Chinese President has made a single-country foreign trip since taking office.
