CRI听力:Badminton World Championships in Copenhagen
This year's Badminton World Championships are underway in Denmark.
On the men's side, Chinese 6th seed Wang Zhengming is through to the 2nd round after dumping Poland's Michal Rogalski in straight sets.
World number-1 Lee Chong-Wei from Malaysia is also through after dumping a South Korean opponent in straight sets.
Hong Kong's Yip Pui Yin is through to round-2 after getting through an Irish opponent in straight-sets,on the women's side.
There were no mainland women playing on Monday, as most of them are highly-ranked and have earned byes into the 2nd round.
Chinese-Canadian Michelle Li is through after a straight-sets win over England's Fontaine Mica Chapman.
"This is the first time that I have ever played her but I know she was really tall and she is really strong and her attack is very good, so I was expecting her to have a nice (performance) and she caused me a lot of time on the offence, so I was expecting it, I just didn't expect it to be 28-26."
This year's Badminton World Championships will run into the weekend.
