CRI听力:China Published 2014 Top 500 Companies List
The latest annual list of China's top 500 companies has been published.
With a revenues nearing 3-trillion yuan, or around 500 billion U.S. dollars, oil giant Sinopec tops the list for the 10th consecutive year.
Sinopec is followed on the list by PetroChina and the State Grid Corporation.
Total revenues generated by the top 500 sits at just under 56.7-trillion yuan, which is roughly the same as China's GDP last year.
Wang Jiming is with the China Enterprise Confederation, which compiles the list every year.
"The general situation for the top 500 has been good this year. The growth has been steady, but at the same time, has shown spikes, which is not easy considering the general economic climate. Also, the structural upgrade and industrial transformation have been improved as well."
The annual list, which is viewed as a broad-based barometer for China's economy, has been published since 2001.
