CRI听力:44 Killed in Lagos Church Building Collapse
At least 44 bodies have been retrieved as rescue workers in Nigeria searched through the rubble of a collapsed church building in Lagos.
The disaster happened on Friday. A two-story guesthouse was having three additional floors built on top.
So far, 130 people have been rescued from the rubble.
Femi Osan yin tolu is the General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency.
"Our mission is to rescue people and we have been doing that in conjunction with all the emergency responders and you can see using sophisticated equipment, heavy duty and light duty equipment and with that we are able to save a lot of lives from this collapsed building."
The pastor in charge of the church claims that a low-flying helicopter that had been circling the building may have triggered the building's collapse.
