Baczinszky looks to continue her impressive run after ousting world no. 4 Maria Sharapova in straight sets on Wednesday.
In earlier action,
World no. 9 Eugenie Bouchard defeated France's Alize Cornet in straight-sets.
Caroline Garcia's giant-killer winning streak has come to an end with her straight-set defeat at the racket of third-seed Czech Petra Kvitova.
Frenchwoman Garcia defeated Venus Williams and Poland's Agnieska Radwanska in the first and second rounds of the tournament.
At the ATP Shenzhen Open,
Second-round action saw top-seeded Spaniard David Ferrer ousted by Serbia's Viktor Troicki; the Serb handling world no. 5 Terrer in an impressive straight-set victory.
Sixth-seeded Colombian Santiago Giraldo also took a straight-set victory against Australia's Thanasi Kokkinakis.
Lithuania's Ricardas Berankis went down to Slovakian Lukas Lacko, also in straight sets.
And India's Somdev Devvarman faces world no. 11 Brit Andy Murray, that match gets under way later tonight.
