CRI听力:First Ebola Case Reported in US
The United States has its first undocumented case of Ebola crossing into its territory.
A person traveling from Liberia has been diagnosed with the virus in Texas.
Thomas Friedan is the Director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
"An individual travelling from Liberia has been diagnosed with Ebola in the United States."
The US CDC says the patient left Liberia on September 19th and arrived the next day.
The individual had no symptoms of Ebola upon leaving Liberia or arriving in the U.S.
The patient has been put in strict isolation.
The US Centers for Disease Control has already sent a team into North Texas to help local health officials re-trace the man's contacts in the US.
Director Thomas Friedan says it's not easy to contract the virus.
"It's only spread by director contact with someone who is sick with the virus. And it's only spread body fluids."
Two other American citizens who had been working with Ebola patients in West Africa were returned to the United States and underwent treatment for the virus.
