CRI听力:Kenya's President Leaves the ICC to Cheers from his Supporters
Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has left the International Criminal Court in The Hague to cheers from his supporters after making his first appearance before the ICC.
"I thank you very very very much for coming here to support us. I do not want to say too much but as you have heard for yourselves, there was nothing… they just wanted to see us here, now it's up to them."
Kenyatta's trial was scheduled to start this week.
But the judges have granted prosecutors a postponement in an attempt to try to collect more evidence.
Kenyetta is accused of orchestrating a wave of deadly post-election violence that swept the country in 2007.
He's also charged with being complicit in the murder of over 12-hundred Kenyans.
He has denied the charges against him.
Prosecutors have acknowledged they currently don't have enough evidence to prosecute Kenyatta.
However, ICC prosecutors are accusing Kenyatta's government of obstructing their investigation.
