CRI听力:Iran FM Says Progress Made in Nuclear Talks with World Powers
Iran's Foreign Minister says they have made "progress" with the six world powers as part of this week's nuclear talks in Vienna.
The trilateral talks among US Secretary of State John Kerry, Iranian Foreign Minsiter Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton are taking place ahead of a November deadline to seal a deal.
The Iranian side has also revealed it's considering a US proposal at the talks.
Zarif says the proposal would allow Iran to keep more of its nuclear infrastructure intact, while still reducing its ability to construct a nuclear weapon.
"We think that we have moved forward, even regarding the sanctions. In all aspects progress has been made. However, I still believe that the main roadblock, of course not a real obstacle, but a psychological one, that the other party needs to leave behind, is the issue of sanctions,"
The nuclear talks in Vienna come just over a month before a self-imposed November 24th deadline to hammer out a deal.
If no deal can be reached by then, previous sanctions on Iran will once-again kick-in.
Iran may also return to high-level uranium enrichment.
