2014-10-17来源:CRI

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang says the latest assistance will include 60 ambulances, 100 motorcycles as well as tens of thousands of medical kits and protective devices.

Dozens of Chinese medical experts will also be dispatched to the affected countries to help train local health care workers.

China has already offered African nations a total of 38 million U.S. dollars in aid to battle the ebola virus.

Li Keqiang also says China stands ready to fight the deadly virus along with the international community.

Meanwhile, as part of the summit itself, the Chinese Premier also introduced a three-point proposal, calling for improved inter-connectivity between Asia and Europe, including a more liberal investment environment, to create a single Eurasian market.

He says China is willing to work with regional countries to build an inter-connected Eurasian infrastructure network.

Li Keqiang is also proposing a resumption of regional Economic Ministers' meetings, as well as the creation of a Eurasian center for science and technology.

Leaders from Asia and Europe are attending the two-day summit, which got underway yesterday.
The discussions are mainly focused on how European and Asian nations can cooperate and strengthen their relationships in the areas of economic growth and security.

This year's summit has formally accepted Kazakhstan and Croatia as members, making the Asia-Europe Summit Meeting a 53-member forum.

Ahead of his time at the summit, the Chinese Premier met with the President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy, as well as European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.
That meeting has seen them agree to speed up their investment treaty negotiations and settle broader trade frictions.
