China's CNR, one of the country's top train manufacturers, has won a 550 million-U.S. dollar contract to supply rail cars for two subway lines in the U.S. city of Boston.
This makes CNR the first Chinese railcar and locomotive manufacturer to win a bid in the U.S.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has approved the contract.
More than 280 subway cars are to be delivered, beginning in 4 or 5 years.
